Property and Landscape

Our property is approximately 155 acres of hardwood and softwood stands, mainly oak, hickory, ash, elm, white pine, white and red cedar, spruce and hemlock. We also have a working Maple Syrup operation on the property with plenty of large mature Sugar Maple trees.

We are on the edge of where the Canadian Shield meets the farmland and limestone of the Great Lakes basin. There is a lot of exposed limestone with cracks and crevices everywhere so please be careful where you place your feet! We even have a small cave on the property, personal guided tours and cave exploration with small groups maybe possible if time allows!

History

Our name stems from our local hamlet of Newburgh. Historically it was named Rogue’s Hollow until about the turn of the 20 th century when the town council decide to try for the county seat, they felt a name change would help their bid, hence the name of Rogue’s Hollow was dropped.
